Death Guard - Part VIII - Daemon Princes.

Image
I recently finished building and converting my two Daemon Princes for my Death Guard. I wanted to do something a little different in order to represent their 'wings', so mine are equipped with rather large daemonic jump packs. The Prince with the cleaver has a pack built from plastic tubing, plasticard, green stuff and some fans from Zinge Industries. The Prince equipped with claws has a pack built from the turbines from the Foetid Bloat Drone and some other bits.

Death Guard - Part VII - Painted Foetid Bloat Drones.

Hey folks, again it's been a while since my last post. That being said they should be increasing in frequency as I've finally pulled my finger out and started painting this stuff. Anyway, here's the first lot of painted models, my 3 Foetid Bloat Drones armed with Plaguespitters. Foetid Bloat Drones

Death Guard - Part VI - WIP Hellforged Leviathan Dreadnought & Predators.

Image
Hey folks, long time since my last update but I haven't been entirely idle. Right now I'm about 95% done building my new Forge World Leviathan Dreadnought, and I'm also just about finished with a pair of Predators, with some minor detailing to do before I paint. Here's the Leviathan: Hellforged Leviathan Dreadnought As you can see I've gone for a butcher cannon array and grav-flux bombard, though everything is magnetized so I can swap arms around. At time of posting I need to blend the spikes in a bit better (probably using liquid green stuff) and I also need to add a converted head. For the head I'll probably try and make something a little like Typhus - with the slit visor and horn coming out of the centre. As for the two Predators, I wanted to do something a little different. I had the kernel of an idea when I saw complete sets of metal parts on Ebay for the old metal & plastic  Predator Destructor , sometimes known as the Mkiiic pattern. Aft...

Death Guard - Part V - Chaos Decimators

Image
Hey folks, time for another update. I recently finished kit-bashing two Chaos Decimators for the Death Guard. I've been wanting to include a couple of these since the release of Forge World's Imperial Armour - Index: Forces of Chaos. That being said I am not a HUGE fan of the Forge World model, but more importantly I also wanted something more in keeping with the aesthetic of the new Death Guard releases. So, with that in mind I have converted these using the Foetid Bloat Drone for the torso and have mounted that on top of the leg assembly of the Adeptus Mechanicus Onager Dunecrawler. Front View I also took the step of trimming away the existing tentacles that were hanging from the front and added some of my own using green stuff and / or poseable wrapped wire from Zinge Industries . Further parts from the Dunecrawler (power pack etc) were added for decoration. The weapon arms are made from the seismic hammer arms from Ironclad Dreadnoughts with the shoulde...

Death Guard - Part IV - Dark Imperium

Image
So it's been a few months since I last posted. In that time we've seen the release of Warhammer 40k 8th edtion, and more importantly the release of the fantastic Dark Imperium starter set. After doing swaps with a couple of friends I have manage to amass three sets of the Death Guard miniatures and recently got around to building, basing and base-coating all of the marines, drones and characters, along with my converted terminators. All of the models have been base-coated with GW's Death Guard green spray. The bases I'll be painting separately, hence everything's stuck on with blu-tack for the time being. Death Guard characters (from left - Malignant Plaguecaster, Lord of Contagion, Chaos Lord, Noxious Blightbringer) Foetid Bloat-Drones  x3 Death Guard Terminators (Converted) 1st Plague Marine Squad, with two blight-launchers and power fist & plasma gun on the champion. Some of you may have noticed that in addition to some of my mari...

Death Guard - Part III - Industrial scenic bases

Not too much to say about these apart from that I plan on doing these in various sizes for the entirety of the army. Made up from  aluminium mesh, styrene tubes, strips, H-columns and rods, styrene sheet and 1/100 scale tread-plate.

Death Guard - Part II - Terminators

Image
Hey folks, as promised here are my converted squad of Death Guard Terminators.  They're made largely from parts from both the plastic Cataphractii and Tartaros terminator sets, and also the wonderful Putrid Blightkings . Add to this a liberal dose of green stuff (tentacles were made using the roll maker from GreenStuffWorld ). Apologies in advance for the photo quality, still need to build myself a proper lightbox Here's the full squad: And the individual squad members: And there you have it.  Next post I'll be showcasing some of my scratch-built industrial bases for these guys.
